Wonderspaces
Art day flicks from Wonderspaces in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Rainbow Rooms recreates a home scene in which the objects are covered with various fabrics and multi-colored yarn. Even the walls themselves are made of woven yarn. The installation reflects the artist, Pierre le Riche experience growing up as a gay man in conservative South Africa. The piece is intended to stimulate a dialogue about identity, exploring struggles of discrimination, acceptance, and masculinity.
Wonderspaces partners with artists to deliver artwork to new audiences. They create art shows that travel to different cities in hopes that people can connect with art and with each other. Check out Wonderspaces in other cities. Currently they have locations in Scottsdale, Austin, Philadelphia, and San Diego.
