Denver Photo Diary
Denver, Colorado 2020
Denver has been on my list of cities to visit for a few years now. I was so excited when one of my besties decided to celebrate her birthday in the “Mile High” city. The weekend trip went by so fast that I can’t wait to go back.
BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
Swing by Jelly Cafe in Capitol Hill for a late breakfast or brunch. When you walk in you will immediately notice the cafe is lined with vintage cereal boxes. Don’t leave without trying the donut bites. They were mouth watering! I did the research for you and tried all 8 flavors. I still can’t decide if Salted Caramel or Mexican Chocolate was my favorite.
SKI & SNOWBOARDING
Denver has plenty of ski resorts to choose from. Since this was our first time we went with the closest and most affordable option. We took a scenic drive about an hour away from downtown Denver to Echo Mountain. We spent less than $150 per person for the entire day. This included an all day pass to the resort, snowboard rental equipment, and one hour of snow tubing.
LODGING
Instead of collecting more hotel points we rented a 3 level house in Englewood via Airbnb.
Our rental was less than $200 a night. Swipe through to see inside. If you haven’t booked a rental through Airbnb, use this link to receive $55 off.
DINNER & DRINKS
The first night we dined at a highly recommended intimate Italian eatery Tarvernetta. Reservations were required but we waited for longer than anyone should for a table. The staff accommodated us with drinks on the house. If seafood is more up your alley try Elways downtown. Everything was delicious!
RECREATIONAL DISPENSARIES
There are more dispensaries in Denver than Starbucks. We were curious. We visited bgood Englewood and Kind Love in Denver.
Denver Art Museum
My husband knows I’m one of those” I like art” type of girls and planned a day date to the Denver Art Museum before we flew out.
The Light Show at the Denver Art Museum explores physical and symbolic representations of light in art through a thought-provoking narrative. The exhibition features about 250 objects drawn from the DAM’s nine curatorial departments. The Light Show focuses on the quest by humanity and artists to understand physical light in the natural world as well as metaphorical, spiritual, and divine representations of light.
