Just last week we were teased with unseasonably warm, 80 degree weather. Those few Spring-like days were a painful tease but also the perfect reminder that Summer is indeed coming! We all know what they say: Summer bodies are made in Winter. With plenty of time to get snatched, the ladies behind B*tches Who Brunch invited a media group of influencers and bloggers for a different kind of Saturday brunch to experience Equinox’s brand new group fitness class, The Muse.
The dance-inspired, cardio class combined light weights and choreography. At the beginning of the class our instructor advised the 3 pound, round weights were optional. Since I work out regularly I didn’t think much of the small weights. I was so very wrong by assuming this class would be fairly easy. That was far from the case. The 30 minute session isn’t like any other DC group work out I’ve experienced. Think barre or a beginners Ballet class, mixed with elements of yoga, and a lot of core training. It was a challenge and I was sweating! I enjoyed the class so much that afterwards I considered investing in a Equinox membership.
