Is It Time For A Milk Makeover?

Spoiler alert! I absolutely hate milk. So it’s no surprise that I am here to convince you that a milk makeover is exactly what you need. I force myself to keep almond milk stocked in my frig for my home-made smoothies but I never drink it alone. The thick consistency, smell, and debatable nutrition facts on dairy milk don’t sit well with me. I’m just not a fan and I know I’m not alone. Let me introduce you to your morning coffee/cereal/smoothie’s new favorite partner Bolthouse Farms Plant Protein Milk.

Last week Bolthouse Farms invited DC bloggers out to Founding Farmers for a breakfast taste test. We learned the plant protein milk can be enjoyed just like a traditional dairy milk or almond milk – straight from a glass or in smoothies, cereal, coffee and in recipes. While it is ideal for vegans and those that are lactose intolerant, the creamy consistency makes it a healthier, calcium rich alternative that anyone would like.

What’s In It

Bolthouse Farms Plant Protein Milk is 100% vegan, non-GMO, lactose and gluten-free without dairy, nuts and soy. The Plant Protein Milk is available in 4 flavors – Unsweetened, Original, Vanilla and Chocolate. Of course Chocolate was my favorite closely followed by the Vanilla flavor. This milk is being advertised as plant protein but my taste buds were surprised to learn the milk is actually made with pea protein and filled with goodness including 50% more calcium than dairy milk and 10 grams of protein per serving.

There’s a health consciousness shift happening and I’m totally on board. Especially when taste isn’t sacrificed for the sake of being “healthy”. Here’s a super easy 4 ingredient vegan smoothie recipe to try with the plant protein milk:

Blend 1 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 cup frozen blackberries, and ¾ cup Bolthouse Farms® Vanilla Plant Protein Milk until smooth.

Pour into a bowl or cup and top with frozen berries and chia seeds (optional). Enjoy!!

It’s great to see companies like Bolthouse making healthier options easily accessible and most importantly affordable. Bolthouse Farms Plant Protein Milk retails for $4.99 and is available in the dairy section nationwide. Click here to find Bolthouse Farms Plant Protein Milk and local availability.

Oh, this is a great alternative to milk! I do not like cow’s milk and my body too. It is very attractive that there is a lot of calcium in this product.
