Instagram #KindComments DC Mural by Dallas Clayton

Instagram’s #KindComments is a global initiative to promote and foster positive engagement online. By transforming walls into colorful beacons of kindness around the world, they hope to create positive spaces for people to come together as a community and share #KindComments on and off Instagram. More murals inspiring #KindComments will be launched in New York, Dallas, Chicago, Mexico City, Jakarta, Ottawa, Tokyo, São Paulo, Brasilia, and Mumbai. At the opening DC event on October 11th, which is International Day of the Girl, Instagram will also honor 3 teen girls who have started their own businesses on Instagram. With a nod to #KindComments and spreading kindness, they’ve paired each young entrepreneur with an established small business in the same field who will mentor the teens on their business journey on and off Instagram. Small business mentors and mentees will be at the event showcasing their work.

If you’re free swing by the #KindComments wall at Union Market on Wednesday, October 11th at 3pm and meet the folks at Instagram and artist Dallas Clayton, plus teen entrepreneurs and small businesses from Union Market who are using Instagram to share their work, mentor others, and spread kindness. One of my faves, photographer Gary Williams @MasterWilliams  will be on-site for pics in front on the wall so be ready to #DoItForThaGram!
