I love trying new restaurants and the overall “going out to eat experience”. Whenever you see a new food or drink post, or me raving about something on Instagram just know the food is that good! Otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time telling you about it. Fruitive is the latest restaurant in DC worth knowing about if you don’t know already.
Located in City Center, Fruitive is North America’s first certified, organic fast-casual restaurant. At Fruitive, they believe that everyone is a true individual, and that your path to true health and happiness is as unique as you are. I absolutely love their motto: Live Your Health. Live Your Values. It means to explore, discover, listen, and pursue what’s personally healthy for you. It’s all about setting your health standards, sticking to them, and enjoying the journey.
Fruitive Is: 100% PLANT-BASED, CERTIFIED ORGANIC, KOSHER, SUSTAINABLE, HOME-MADE.
100% plant-based and gluten-free waffles and avocado toast
The cold press juices are my favorite. Specifically Brighten Up and Pineapple Xpress.
COLD PRESSED JUICE BRIGHTEN UP
Green Apple, Beet, Red Apple, Lemon, Ginger
Perky and brain-brightening, this beet-based lemonade is a sweet, tart, earthy, mood-enhancing elixir. The bold apple and citrus tones clearly balance out the bitter earthiness of the beet providing a sweet and refreshing drink for even newbie juicers! Although this drink was originally inspired to help banish brain fog and brighten your mood, it’s also a fantastic drink to sip before, during, or after an intense activity – which could include hiking, surfing, running, or even a long day of shopping.
The star of this drink is obviously the beet. The nitrate-rich beet, especially its juice, is exactly what you need to banish brain fog, purify your blood, and naturally prep your body for a workout. Specifically, the nitrates in the beet juice increase nitric oxide in your body, which consequently opens and relaxes your blood vessels so that oxygen-rich blood can effectively flow throughout the body. Thus, beet juice improves oxygen-rich blood flow to the brain and has the ability to enhance endurance and increase stamina. Brighten Up is also a good source of alkalizing lemon, anti-inflammatory ginger, and vitamin-C-rich apple.
WHAT’S IT TASTE LIKE?
A light-bodied, beet-lemonade-inspired juice that’s sweet, bright, and very lifting. The bold apple and citrus tones balance out the bitter earthiness of the beet.
COLD PRESSED JUICE PINEAPPLE XPRESS
Pineapple, Pear, Aloe Vera, Ginger
Zippy, fruity, and refreshing to the max, Pineapple Xpress is a juice that everyone can enjoy from start to finish. Not only is this elixir delicious, it’s also a delightfully soothing tummy tamer. Whether you’re craving a sweet drink, or a tonic for the stomach blues, Pineapple Xpress fits the bill.
Pineapple Xpress is filled with two of the best gut healing, anti-inflammatory, stomach soothing foods around: aloe vera and ginger. Not to mention, pineapple’s strong digestive enzyme, bromelain, also tends to help out with digestive health. And it’s loaded with vitamin C, vitamin A, beta-carotene, and vitamin E thanks to the delicious pineapple and pear.
WHAT’S IT TASTE LIKE?
A nice fruity blend that’s light-bodied, refreshing, and sweet from start to finish.
Now I’ll have to find more excuses to go down to City Center so I can swing by Fruitive. It’s a healthy and filling alternative to a typical DC boozy, bottomless brunch and I love that it’s totally guilt free. If you go tell them I sent you!
