3 DC Inspired Gin Cocktails You Can Make At Home

Bombay Sapphire kept speciality crafted cocktails flowing throughout the evening at the Things I Love/d exhibit. Typically when I drink, gin is one liquor that I stay very far away from. I’ve never been a fan up until now. The DC inspired gin cocktails were too good not to share and the recipes are so easy you can try to make them at home.

3 DC Inspired Cocktails You Can Make At Home

Go Go Rickey inspired by the famous DC cocktail the Gin Rickey, while giving a ‘tip of the cap’ to The Godfather of gogo Chuck Brown

What You Need

  • 1.5oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • 0.75oz fresh lime juice (unpasteurized)
  • 0.75oz simple syrup
  • 2 fresh basil leaves
  • 0.75oz coconut water
  • 1oz water

Blend with ice cubes. Serve frozen into glass. Use blender to make up to 10 servings. Garnish: Coconut flakes and lime wheel

Bombay Sapphire Gin

Major Bailey’s Bramble inspired by the DC classic cocktail served during prohibition, the Major Bailey

What You Need

  • 1.5oz Bombay Sapphire
  • 3oz of homemade lemonade
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice (unpasteurized)
  • 1 part simple syrup
  • 2 parts water
  • 0.5oz Creme de Mure

Pour .5oz of crème de mure at bottom of glass, fill glass with crushed ice. Shake gin and lemonade and serve over crushed ice. Garnish: Lemon wheel

Sapphire Buck-a refreshing take on the Moscow Mule cocktail

What You Need

  • Bombay Sapphire Gin
  • Fresh lemon juice (unpasteurized)
  • 4oz Ginger Beer (Fever Tree)
  • Garnish: Lime Wedge
  • Ice: 1″ cubes

Build in glass with ice and top with Ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedge.
