Another unique, traveling fashion exhibit made its way here to the DMV area just in time for Summer. Earlier this week I was invited for the first inside look at the Snoopy and Belle in Fashion exhibit. Snoopy & Belle in Fashionpremiered to the industry at New York Fashion Week in September of 2014. Since that time, it has been wowing international audiences in Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and Mexico City. This is the first time the exhibit has been free and open to the public in the nation’s capital.
The exhibit features a rare collection of mini-couture outfits designed exclusively for Snoopy and his sister Belle by over 50 of the world’s foremost designers including Rachel Zoe, Chanel, Hermès, Tracy Reese, Diane Von Furstenberg and Zac Posen.
If you didn’t know, Snoopy has a sister and her name is Belle. She lives in Paris, and she has a long history in fashion. This exhibit celebrates the joy of Peanuts and the genius of the fashion community.
In celebration of Washington D.C.’s political style, the exhibition features all new one-of-a-kind creations by Livelihood’s Ashley Biden, the daughter of former Vice President Joe Biden, and Barbara Tfank, fashion designer for former First Lady Michelle Obama. Biden’s mini-couture outfits spotlight her new signature brand of Livelihood hoodies, while Tfank’s designs are exact replicas of two dresses that Mrs. Obama wore to state events.
There’s always an app for that. If you download the new app you can learn all about the Peanuts, fashion designers, and of course pick out your favorite Peanuts-themed Snapchat and Instagram filters for your perfect selfie.
If you’re out in Virginia go see it for yourself! Snoopy & Belle In Fashion is on display June 21st- July 18th at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax, VA. Up next the traveling exhibit will travel to San Diego Comic-Con before making its final stop at New York Fashion Week in September.
