Washington DC is not lacking when it comes to amazing museums and special art exhibitions. This season a new, must-see fashion exhibit is in town! Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair shares and celebrates the story of Ebony Fashion Fair and its cultural impact. For 50 years, the Ebony Fashion Fair shaped a new vision of Black America through contemporary fashion.

Inspiring Beauty 50 years of Ebony Fashion Fair Exhibit

Currently on view at The George Washington University Textile Museum, forty garments selected from a collection of thousands are at the center of this dynamic show. This exhibition of stunning pieces tell the story of the traveling fashion show creator Eunice W. Johnson. She broke the color barrier and overcame racial prejudice to bring global fashion to Black communities.
