Last weekend during my yearly trip to Miami I made it my business to stop by this new gastropub Kush by Lokal in Wynwood. My friend raved about it and convinced me this restie was right up my alley. If you’re not looking for it you can totally miss the local corner spot.
Once our waitress Z realized I was a first timer she gave me a quick background about the spot. They offer several dishes specifically created and served only at Kush. All of the dishes are made from the freshest ingredients and sourced from Florida farms. I was surprised to find out they make everything from scratch every single day – right down to the ketchup and key lime pie. With Chicken and Waffles on the menu there was no way I could pass them up! Voted best Chicken and Waffles in Miami I had to see if they lived up to the hype.
The Belgium waffles were served topped with chopped bacon, powdered sugar, and homemade maple syrup. Once I added the host sauce (forgot the name) to the fried chicken it was literally a party in my mouth! The food was simply amazing!
The owners at Kush believe that “Good beer aint cheep. Cheap beer aint good.” They are committed to uniting quality craft beers, locally sourced food, and engaging works created by visionary local artists all under one roof. Since it was early in the day I skipped out on any alcohol but their beer menu consists of 18 taps which is unlike any other in the Florida beer community. They also offer an exclusive selection of small production wines.
Kush is definitely becoming a Miami favorite. Earlier this Spring basketball wife Adrienne Bosh posted a photo from a private event with the rest of the big 3 from the Miami Heat including hubby Chris Bosh, LeBron James and wife Savannah, Dwyane Wade and fiancé Gabrielle Union and others.
Next time I hit Miami I’m definitely going back! If you’re in Miami I highly recommend you swing by Kush and tell them I sent you! As a tip call ahead as seating is limited.
