By now it’s no secret that I love all things related to beauty! Imagine my extreme excitement when the beauties from TATCHA sent me their luxe skin care products infused with Japanese beauty secrets and rituals for a beauty product review. Since I couldn’t contain my excitement I had to share with my Instagram and Facebook friends.
By now you should be following all of my fabulous randomness on Instagram: 7thdistrict
TATCHA has worked with teams of scientists, scholars and geisha themselves to decipher the rituals and ingredients from a 200-year old manuscript detailing their daily regimens. They have uncovered the very foundation of Eastern skin care and beauty which has gained the likes from beauty editors at: ELLE, Vogue, O Magazine, Marie Claire, Refinery 29, and stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe.
I cannot express how much I adore hand written notes! (Especially when my name is spelled correctly!) This simple gesture goes a long way! PR people take notes! THANK YOU!
On to the product review and my initial thoughts…TATCHA recommends following the “ritual” or basic step system starting with the Pure Cleansing Oil which acts as a facial cleanser and excellent makeup remover for stubborn black eyeliner. The rice enzyme Polishing Powders are a daily exfoliants especially designed for each skin type. I was skeptical of using an exfoliant everyday since I already have dry, sensitive skin but the gentle formula powder didn’t burn or leave my skin irritated. I was impressed that instead of your usual grainy exfoliant, the polishing powders turn into a creamy foam by adding water.
I absolutely loved the brightening serum and moisture rich silk cream. My skin felt smooth to the touch and the rich silk creme was moisturizing and very lightweight. It also doubles as an anti-aging cream and natural makeup primer. (2 snaps for that!) I’ve only been using the products for 2 weeks and my skin does appear to be brighter. It’s either TATCHA products or I have a saucy summer glow from the 100+ blazing temperatures we’ve been experiencing lately.
TATCHA’s best selling and most popular product is the Aburatorigami Beauty Papers. These beauty papers contain flecks of gold (another ancient Japanese secret). Since my skin tends to be on the dry side I can’t say how great they worked for me but I’m sure these blotting papers will help you oily skin gals remain shine free this summer.
The best thing about these products are they are completely free of mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, urea, DEA, TEA or phthalates. All the formulas are dermatologist tested, non-irritating and non-sensitizing, just the way nature intended and perfect for all skin types. My only con about these products are the price. But hey it is your face! It’s the only one you have so how can you put a price tag on great skincare!
