Since I don’t have any major travel plans this summer I’ve decided to attempt this fun 100 Things To Do This Summer list. For me Summer 2012 is all about hot days, chill nights, good company and mellow vibes. This past Sunday that’s exactly what I got when a few DC friends gathered at the only open-air rooftop bar and pool on Capitol Hill The Liaison. When I posted the pic above on Instagram someone left a comment saying:
“So its true, black people can’t swim.”
For some crazy reason there’s this misconception that black people can’t swim. Let’s be clear…we CAN swim, we just choose not to at pool parties LOL! Since I didn’t technically go swimming lets just scratch put my feet in the water, have a drink and look cute off my list of 100 things to to this summer. 1 down only 99 more to go!

The Liaison Pool is the only open-air rooftop bar and pool on Capitol Hill. The Liaison rooftop pool and bar is such a beautiful space that offers handcrafted cocktails & light fare perfect for a relaxing summer day in the District. If you’re not a guest at the Liaison you can hang poolside if you buy a day pass but the rooftop is free after 5pm.

you ladies look great! and that tattoo….HOTNESS!
Thank you!
Ha! I guess it matters what type of pool party we are talking about. One where I am wearing makeup, jewelry and trying to be seen, then no. But, show me a pool any other hot day and I am in it. So, I noticed everyone’s hair though, I don’t know why well, probably because Kimee’s hair is so cute. Oh, everyone’s hair is fab and you all do look fab. I need to visit the Liaison looks like a great place.
bwaha! at “black people can’t swim”. I’m black and I can swim! Most members of my family can too but I cant even tell you the last time I actually went SWIMMING at the pool. I always sit poolside and try to tan now more than anything else.
