Style Stalkin’: Aureta Thomallari

DC isn’t exactly known for fashion (yet) but there’s one glamorous woman that resides here in DC that gets my vote for DC Fashion Icon-Aureta Thomalli. As a frequent stalker reader of her amazing photo blog -Aureta’s blog I am always in awe! Her international travels and extensive luxury wardrobe is enviable! I was pleased to see that I’m not the only one that admits her style is stalk-worthy. WhoWhatWear featured her in this month’s Style Stalker series.

Style Q&A with Aureta

Please describe your personal style in two sentences or less.
It’s hard to give an objective answer; my style is organic, perhaps eccentric and artistic, influenced by Old World glamour and peppered with my various life experiences and loves.

List some of your favorite current trends and why you appreciate them/how you are wearing them.
I am loving the floral prints this season. From Erdem and Mary Katrantzou to Celine and Isabel Marant, nothing says spring to me like flowers. I work beads and sequins into the mix to add texture and light, and have been wearing my Murua flower-print pants with my Isabel Marant floral jacket nonstop. I’m so in love, in fact, I just ordered a pair of Mother’s exotic, floral A Day in Paradise jeans and can’t wait to wear them!

Who are some of your style icons and why?
My favorite style mavens have to be Tina Chow and Grace Jones. They were both natural, luminous, and daring; ahead of their time, but always at ease with their anachronism. Polar styles, visionary confluence.

To me Aureta defines what it means to be a glamorously, fly chick! Check out the full feature
